All dogs within the Town of Plum Coulee and the Town of Gretna require a license. Dog licenses are due January 31 and need to be renewed annually. Cost is $12 for spayed or neutered and $24 for those that aren't. Licenses are available at the Altona or Plum Coulee offices. The license must be renewed as of January 31st of each year.
License fees are as follows as outlined in the By-Law:
License applications received between January 1st and February 28th of each year:
Any breed not neutered or spayed - $24.00 per dog/cat
Any breed neutered or spayed - $12.00 per dog/cat
When you come in for your license(s) we require a document of proof of rabies shots and of the dog(s) having been spayed or neutered.
Running at Large
If required to do so, the Animal Control Officer will seize and impound the dog. Fines are stated in the applicable area by-laws.
Please note: all dogs over the age of 6 months must be obtain a license for the dog annually with the Municipality.
